How it works

From your first tap to your morning forecast.

1

Log in one tap

When a migraine starts, press the + once. That single tap is all Migraine Sentry asks of you in the moment.

2

We watch quietly

Your Apple Watch already tracks HRV, sleep and heart rate. Migraine Sentry simply reads what's already there.

3

A 30-second check-in

A quick tap on caffeine, hydration and stress: the everyday things your Apple Watch can't see. It sharpens your patterns.

4

Patterns emerge

Your first insights and forecast appear after 3 logged migraines. Ranked triggers surface, and the picture sharpens by your fifth.

5

Your morning forecast

Each morning Migraine Sentry shows your vulnerability for the day, then sends quiet live signals if things shift.

01 · Daily forecast

Wake up knowing your vulnerability

Every morning, Migraine Sentry reads your overnight sleep quality, HRV, resting heart rate, barometric pressure and weather, then gives you a Low, Moderate or Elevated vulnerability level for the day. It's a heads-up, not a prediction.

  • Built from your personal patterns, not generic advice
  • Concrete actions like "aim for an earlier night", not just a level
  • Sharpens with every migraine you log

02 · Your triggers

See what's really linked to your migraines

Migraine Sentry compares the 48 hours before each migraine to your normal baseline. Your first ranked triggers appear at 3 logged migraines, from short sleep to weather fronts to caffeine timing, grouped by how strongly each is linked and sharpening with every log.

  • 40+ signals considered automatically
  • Compound patterns detected (e.g. short sleep + low HRV together)
  • Grouped into strong and moderate links, not false certainty

03 · Live signals

A nudge when it matters, not all day

During the day, if a signal crosses your personal threshold (barometric pressure dropping, activity too low, entering your perimenstrual window), Migraine Sentry sends a gentle nudge with one concrete action. One per signal, maximum. No notification fatigue.

One nudge per signal, max; each carries a specific action, and all are silenced during an active migraine.

04 · What we've learned

Your patterns, written in plain language

Migraine Sentry turns your data into a short, readable brief: one clear takeaway at a time, backed by the numbers behind it. No dashboards to decode. Just what changed, what it means, and what to watch.

One hero takeaway per section, every claim shown with the figures behind it, updated quietly as your picture sharpens.

What we've learned so far

Stress and body temperature shifts come before most of your migraines.

  • Stress-relaxation transition is your strongest signal, appearing before 9 of 12 attacks — and rarely on your normal days.
  • Body temp shift · 7/12 attacks.
  • Your attacks are down this month, 2 so far vs 5 by this point in June.

On-device intelligence

Intelligence that learns you. And never leaves your pocket.

Migraine Sentry's intelligence runs entirely on your iPhone. It builds a picture of your normal, weighs the signals that matter for you, and turns them into a forecast you can act on. No account, no server, not a single upload.

  • 1

    Learns your baseline

After about a week, it knows your normal HRV, sleep and rhythms, so it reacts to your shifts, not population averages.

  • 2

    Weighs 40+ signals

Every signal is scored for how much it matters to your migraines, and how they combine.

  • 3

    Forecasts vulnerability

Each morning it translates all of that into a Low, Moderate or Elevated level, with a reason and an action.

  • 4

    Stays on your device

Your data and every calculation live on your phone. Nothing about you is uploaded; the only thing that ever leaves your phone is an approximate location to fetch the weather.

Backed by research

Migraines aren't random. Your body shifts first.

Research links measurable changes in heart rate variability, sleep architecture and barometric pressure to the hours before a migraine. Most people can't see them. Migraine Sentry watches for them.

The prodrome window

In the 24–48 hours before a migraine, the autonomic nervous system tends to shift: HRV dips, sleep fragments, resting heart rate drifts, and dozens of subtler signals move with them. Migraine Sentry listens during that window so you don't have to.

−48h−24hOnset
A typical HRV decline in the days before an attack

Why diaries miss it

A diaryasks you.

It captures what you remember, once a day, after the fact. The HRV slide at 3am, the pressure that fell over lunch, the third short night in a row. Memory keeps almost none of it.

A sentrywatches.

It doesn't ask. It watches around the clock, while you sleep, work, and forget it's there, checking every shift against your pattern as it happens.

Personal, not generic

"Avoid stress and chocolate" is generic advice. The app's on-device intelligence learns your combination of signals: the pattern that tends to precede your attacks.

Tuned to your history, not population averages

Five signal families with the deepest published evidence: a sample of the 40+ signals the app watches.

HRV

Studies report heart rate variability declining in the 24–48 hours before onset, one of the most-studied wearable signals in migraine research.

Peer-reviewed studies
Sleep

Research links disrupted sleep (fragmentation, not just short duration) with next-day migraine in many people.

Systematic reviews
Pressure

Reviews describe an association between falling barometric pressure and migraine onset, though sensitivity varies by person.

Review of multiple studies
Stress let-down

Research describes migraines rising in the hours after stress declines: the transition down, not the stress itself.

Published research
Menstrual cycle

Many people who menstruate report a menstrual association, with the perimenstrual window described as higher-risk.

Headache research

Research describes population-level associations. Migraine Sentry surfaces patterns in your own data; it does not diagnose, and findings are not medical claims.

Built for you

Whether it's 2 a month or 20

01

The episodic sufferer

You get migraines a few times a month and have tried tracking triggers without finding a pattern. Migraine Sentry watches the signals you can't. After a few logged attacks, it shows you what your body already knew.

02

The chronic warrior

15+ headache days a month. Your neurologist needs data and you're tired of forms. Migraine Sentry collects passively, generates clinical reports with MIDAS and HIT-6, and hands your doctor the structured data they need.

03

The cycle tracker

You suspect your migraines are hormonal. Migraine Sentry tracks your menstrual cycle alongside your health data, looks for perimenstrual clustering, and can flag catamenial patterns worth raising with your doctor.

Pricing

FAQ

Common questions

Do I need an Apple Watch?
No, but it's strongly recommended. Without an Apple Watch, Migraine Sentry still tracks barometric pressure, weather, and everything you log manually. With one, it adds HRV, sleep stages, resting heart rate, blood oxygen, temperature and activity: the signals research links most closely to migraine.
How is this different from other migraine apps?
Most migraine apps are digital diaries: you log everything manually. Migraine Sentry reads 40+ health signals passively from your Apple Watch and iPhone sensors, then uses on-device intelligence to surface patterns you'd struggle to spot yourself. It watches the signals a diary can't: the HRV drop at 3am, the overnight pressure fall.
How long before I see useful insights?
Basic health metrics show immediately. After about 7 days, your personal baseline activates. Your first insights and forecast appear at 3 logged migraines, and the picture sharpens by your fifth, improving from there as you keep logging.
What if I forget to end a migraine?
End it whenever you remember. If a migraine has been running a few hours, the end screen asks when it actually ended, and you can also adjust the end time later from the migraine’s page in History. Migraine Sentry re-reads the health data for the corrected window, so your patterns stay accurate.
Does it predict my migraines?
It forecasts, rather than predicts. Each morning you get a vulnerability level of Low, Moderate or Elevated, built from the patterns that have preceded your own attacks. Treat it like a weather forecast: an Elevated morning is your cue to hydrate, protect your routine and keep medication close, not a verdict that an attack is coming.
Is this a medical device?
No. Migraine Sentry is an informational wellness tool, not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition. The clinical reports and disability scores (MIDAS, HIT-6) are validated instruments that support better conversations with your doctor; they are not a substitute for medical advice.
What about Android?
Migraine Sentry is iPhone and Apple Watch only right now. The deep Apple Watch health integration is core to how it works. Android is under consideration for the future.
Can I export my data?
Yes. Any time, all generated on your device. The free report gives your doctor the clinical core: your full attack log, disability scores (MIDAS, HIT-6), and symptom and medication summaries. Premium adds the deeper analysis: your trigger ranking, compound triggers and pre-attack changes.
What happens if I stop paying for Premium?
Your data stays on your device; nothing is deleted. You keep logging, your health metrics, full history, your daily forecast level and your doctor-ready report. The Premium intelligence layer pauses until you resubscribe: the forecast reasons, live nudges, trigger ranking and pattern detection.
How much does it cost?
Migraine Sentry is free to download and free to keep using as a full migraine diary: logging, history, your daily forecast level and a doctor-ready report. Premium ($24.99/year or $3.99/month) unlocks the intelligence layer: why your forecast looks the way it does, live nudges, your trigger ranking and deeper insights. It's free for 21 days once your forecast is ready; no card required.
